We are offering a COLOR COPY of the antique 1892 Map of Cook County, DuPage County & Lake County, IL, that was originally made into a Booklet.

From the sub-title: “with parts of other adjacent counties. Showing Civil Townships in color, Railroads, Towns, Cities and Postal Routes.”

Besides the actual map of 1892, it also shows a copy of the Map of Chicago in 1812, with the 3- buildings’ Fort Dearborn, 3 houses outside the Fort, Indian Encampment, Lees Place [with hay stacks] farther Southwest from the Fort, and Battle Ground of 1812. Also included is the information about Chicago population from 1837 [City’s incorporation] to 1890. Such a beautiful map with so many details. Too many towns to list all their names…

Of course, some areas are more difficult to figure out what they are today - as towns’ & cities’ names, in many cases, have been changed since 1892. THIS UNIQUE MAP PROVIDES MANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR HISTORICAL RESEARCH!

This is a very large map, appr. 28” x 38”, that folds into a booklet. Even though it was printed on cheap, thin, yellowish paper and was kept folded in a very old file cabinet – it’s in excellent condition.
