We are offering a COLOR COPY of an antique 1905 advertisement booklet of a part of Jackson Park Highlands, which is now officially declared to be a Historic District, bounded by: 67th Street + Jeffery Avenue + 71st Street + Cregier Avenue. It shows 16 blocks of Lots for sale. It is 8-pages [4 double pages] booklet with information about the area, improvements, sale prices and lots of photos. The name, address & telephone number of the Exclusive Agent, Mr. Frank I. Bennett, is listed as well.
It is a beautiful map, prepared by one of our predecessors.
According to my research: this area originally was within the South Shore NBHD, however, it appears on Chicago NBHDs’ map separately. In 1989 this entire area was designated as Chicago Landmark. Notable residents have included members of: the Whitehall Family, Jesse Jackson,
Ramsey Lewis, Bo Diddley, Enrico Fermi and Gale Sayers, etc.
As all other our maps & plats, this one has some of the surveyor's indexing markings & notes from various surveying projects, completed in the area. History of Chicago at your fingertips!
Each of the double pages of this beautiful map is appr. 10" x 16". For proper dating of this booklet we referred to our extensive archive.
